Water of Life

The Water of Life Project was formed in September 2003. Its mission: to create a “caring community working together to raise funds to drill wells giving life and hope to African communities.”
In the 22 years since then, we have been involved in several projects – we have raised sufficient funds to dig wells, repaired many broken pumps and supported health clinics for villages receiving a well. Over 46,000 people now have access to safe drinking water because of our efforts since 2003. Our wells are located in Haiti, Liberia and other parts of Africa. In this endeavor, we are proud partners with Lifewater Canada.
Christmas Outreach
St. John’s supports 30 families each Christmas through our Christmas Outreach program. We provide a full Christmas dinner including a turkey for these families. Non-perishable food collection for this effort begins in October and our whole congregation is invited to take part. For more information, contact the Parish Office

Mission to Seafarers

St. John’s supports Mission to Seafarers, an Anglican mission serving the port of Halifax. Each Christmas we collect shoeboxes with small gifts, toiletries, phone cards, warm mittens, socks and hats. These boxes are presented to international sailors visiting the port and far from home and loved ones over the Christmas season. For more information and a list of what would be appreciated in the box, contact St. John’s Office
